2019 Festi-Génie Winners!

In our continuing effort to promote education in the challenging fields of mathematics and science, The Crosby Fund once again sponsored the Second Annual Festi-Génie school competition at the Education Center between 16 schools from Verrettes, Deschapelles, and Petite Riviere, all within the Artibonite Valley. For 8 consecutive Saturdays, the top 6 students from each competing school in grades 7 – 9 were chal- lenged to answer questions in math and science. Each team was given a challenging question and a time limit; the team worked together on an answer. Our tutors and local teachers served as judges and Ducasse Alphonse, an alumnus and tutor, created the questions with advise from a university professor. Crosby Fund offered prizes to each school: first prize $1,000, second prize $700, and third prize $400. The competition motivates the schools to offer a higher quality education and serves to promote the school as well. Congratulations to our Top 3 Schools!
